The 2010 South African Championships were held on the 17th of April in Bloemfontein

In total Wolves Academy brought 50 medals home – 11 Gold, 17 Silver and 22 Bronze

9:00 Opening and start of tournament

COST: R120 for CTSD or HK

R170 for both

Self Defense Seminars

Do you sometimes feel that you are not confident enough to take action in a threatening or potentially life-threatening situation?

At Wolves Academy it is our main objective to transform this deceptive perception to a positive knowledge of “I can really pull this self-defence tactic of”.At our Academy we teach practical, simple and effective techniques;

Wolves Academy will present Self-Defence Courses at 22 De Kock Street, Sonheuwel, on

FRIDAY 19 FEBRUARY 2009 from 18:00 to 21:00, and

SATURDAY 20 FEBRUARY 2009 from 09:00 to 12:00

COST PER PERSON: R150.00

The seminar is open to all and all new students are encouraged to attend the seminar. After completion of the seminar, you will be able to:

· Use the tips to stay safe successfully;

· Identify any possible dangerous situations;

· Use your senses;

· Use proper punches and kicks;

· Identify weapons and use them successfully;

· Escape from any grasps;

· Use empty hands against an attacker;

· Defend yourself on the ground

Tournaments

The next tournament will be held on 15 August 2009 at Wits and I would like to see all the students from Wolves Academy at the tournament. A letter has been circulated in this regard and feedback must reach me on or before the 27^th of July 2009.

The tournament is compulsory for all students who will tour Poland as part of the delegation who will represent South Africa’s National team; however, it is also open for all students who want to participate. Please support the Association with their tournaments and let us as Wolves turn up in numbers.

As soon as we have some figures, we will look at the possibility of arranging transport by bus or kombi’s.

International Tours

Four of our members are part of the National Team who will tour Korea for the Haedong Kumdo Championships which will be held in Busan, Korea this month.

Sabumnim Xander Davis (senior national team). Kusanim Monique Rautenbach (junior national Team). Bokusanim Dewaldt Bothma (Junior National team) and Christiaan Rautenbach (Presidents development team) will leave for Korea on 19 July and will return to South Africa on 29 July 2009.
